The Villa Carvois located in the North of France, was ordered by Paul Cravois a rich industrial man from this region. Inaugurated in 1932, it was built by the architect Robert Mallet-Stevens who used an emblematic material of this area, brick. The interior architect Guillaume Rousselle successfully captured the ensemble’s sober beauty. The modern ideas of the Roaring Twenties characterize these simple lines and very confortable volumes. Robert Mallet-Stevens also drew the furniture. A garden with contemporary sculptures named after him was opened recently.
