It was in 1978 that Michael McDonnell fashion photographer succumbed to the charm a young stylish and atypical woman calling herself Madonna. Just like a muse, the artist was able to draw from her all the sensuality and uniqueness to transcribe it through superb black and white photographs, on which the young woman is posing dressed in black with a curly hairstyle, typical of the early 80’s fashion trend.
Afterwards, McDonnell continued to shoot this burgeoning star then aged of 20, who was changing style to suit her whims and fancies. Today we look at these pictures and we know how much she became famous after that ; if the photographer had spotted in her something special, she maybe didn’t know it yet.
