Two students in design at the Ecole cantonale d’art in Lausanne, Switzerland, Damien Ludi and Colin Peillex, created a machine which knits hats while you read your newspaper. The balance of the rocking chair allows to engage cogs and to knit a nice woolen hat. The ECAL encourages its students to invent simple machines, that allows at the same time to create an experience and to use good material. The functioning of this chair is explained in video.
