Bazik, an office of interior design, created for the Japanese hotel Ogawaya Ryokan situated in the region of Gero Onsen, rooms in a typically local style, which illustrates perfectly the culture of Japan. Here are 7 elements.
The floor is a contemporary version of the traditional tatami.
Most of the Japanese sleep directly on a tatami on the floor ; the designers have lowered beds to allow a more authentic experience.
Over the bed, a delicate painting of a sakura tree, or “Hanami”, very present in Japan.
A “shōji”, or sliding door, was integrated to hide the bathroom.
A “furo” or a traditional bathtub, was installed.
Finally, the faucet made of bamboo is a replica of the fountains which we can find in the Japanese gardens.
