Remembering his roots seems to be a recurrent idea in the work of the Cuban artist Jorge Mayet. His sculptures made of paper, plastic and wood represent trees and their never-ending connections that weave and mix up under the ground. A reference to the sculptor‘s personal origins and a way to underline the fact that everything is not always readily apparent.
