Nuria Farré is a Spanish artist based in Barcelona. Her series Immerses is a project of realistic paintings gathering delicate women’s portraits, whose faces are immersed by water. Through the allegory of “sleeping beauty”, she wanted to show that all these frozen beauties can be activated at one moment, by getting out of the water. Waiting for that, they’re all crystalized in a dark liquid, between dream and death, like modern Ophelia.
