Public works within certain urban areas very often reflect the degree of expansion of a country. In any case, this is the approach that the Danish photographer and architect Lars Mortensen chose for his series titled In Search of Habitat, shot during a trip to India in 2010. Constructions follow each other mathematically, incoherently or even in organized, wild and pathetic ways. Concrete volumes that stand in the middle of the nature and homes reveal the social complexity and the sadness involved by urbanisation in the overpopulated areas of this country that counts more than a billion inhabitants.
