On January 16th, 2016, the American astronaut Scott Kelly posted on his Twitter account the amazing photos of the first flower to bloom in space. It is aboard the ISS, International Space Station, launched by the NASA and developed with the Russian federal space agency (FKA) and the European, Japanese and Canadian space agencies, that this incredible exploit was able to be realized. Although plants had already been cultivated in weightlessness, Zinnia is the first one has to bloom there. The researchers are easily going to be able to study its evolution, in view of its rather long growth cycle. Next step : grow tomatoes in space in 2018.
