Photographer, filmmaker and son of ballerina Jacob Sutton directed a movie for the digital 3e Scène of the Opéra de Paris, titled Ascension. By seeing the training of a new ballet by Benjamin Millepied with two young dancers, Hannah O’Neill and Germain Louvet, an idea came to him : exploring the choreography and the music through the Jon Hopkins’ partition – “Abandon Window”, in the various decors that the Opéra can offer. We see them taking the sumptuous Grand Foyer and the rooftop of the Palais Garnier, and the underside of the Bastille scene.
