Nottingham Contemporary expose un documentaire photographique appelé States of America qui présente une génération de photographes à l’approche innovante. De William Eggleston à Mark Cohen en passant par Bill Owens, Lee Friedlander ou encore Stephen Shore. L’exposition retrace la période qui va du Mouvement afro-américain des droits civiques à l’époque Reagan, trois décennies qui ont mené à la division sociale et politique sous l’Amérique de Trump.
